Production Assistant - Day Shift

About the role

This role supports production, planning, or engineering operations within the factory through administrative tasks, including inventory management. Responsibilities may include planning, monitoring, coordinating, scheduling, and recording products and materials through various production phases. May expedite parts to remedy shortage problems.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory parts in cabinets and cross-reference with the database to ensure accuracy; perform a full audit monthly.
  • Keep bins stocked with highly used quartz parts from the stockroom.
  • Maintain cabinet cleanliness and organization.
  • Maintain KEAL case cleanliness and organization; alert engineering if repairs are needed.
  • Keep the rooms in good 5S condition (trash removed, floors cleaned, surfaces wiped, cabinets labeled, etc.).
  • Keep one set each of Nitride, TEOS, and Poly staged in KEAL cases at all times in the fab room.
  • Remove dirty and damaged parts from the fab immediately and prepare for shipment.
  • Keep metalware kits ready in KEAL cases at all times in the fab room.
  • Ship out dirty parts for cleaning, keeping kits together when possible.
  • Update the quartz database for all parts sent out for cleaning or repairs; update again when parts are returned.
  • Track the status of parts out for clean/repair; escalate with the vendor and engineering for any delays.
  • Disposition quartz that Quantum tags as non-conformal.
  • Determine if repair would be cost-effective; request engineering input for final decisions.
  • Track the effectiveness of repairs and Pareto reasons for repairs; track repair costs.
  • Verify invoices against manifests for cleaned/repaired parts.
  • Generate purchase requisitions (PRs) for cleaning/repair.
  • Lead bi-weekly quartz meetings on opportunities for improvement and ask for help when needed.
  • Ship and receive parts from the dock in a timely manner according to RFAB procedures.
  • Cross-reference parts received with goods receipt; take appropriate action if not matched.
  • Store parts in the appropriate location and update the quartz database accordingly.
  • Update the master spreadsheet to track the arrival of newly purchased parts.
  • Keep the quartz database accurate at all times; escalate any discrepancies to engineering.
  • Maintain a list of preferred suppliers by part number in the quartz database.
  • Work with suppliers to prioritize deliveries based on the RFAB master schedule; immediately contact engineering if parts are late and could affect tool release.
  • Get quotes from suppliers as needed.
  • Assist with quartz usage/spend forecasting.
  • Monitor SMI and expense stock levels; optimize min/max levels and ensure supplier conformance.
  • Submit new parts requests, SMI requests, and general PRs for spares and new installs per engineering parts lists.
  • Transfer quartz from Dock to Fab and act as the contact for quartz issues for both TI employees and suppliers.
  • Follow specs and procedures and recommend changes when needed.
  • Understand contamination concerns associated with quartz and the different quartz materials, processes, and repair methods.
  • Read and understand CAD engineering drawings to identify parts.
  • Understand the change control process for RFAB.
  • Continuously work with engineering to proactively improve the overall quartz system and compliance.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement).
  • Ability to follow work directions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions.
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results.
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationships.
  • Good listener and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use Excel, Trackworks, SAP, and the Quartz Database.
  • Ability to maintain an inventory database accurately.
  • Ability to ship/receive material from RFAB to vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a Quartz Role.
