Production Assembler - 1st shift

About the role

Join our Production Assembler team at GE Aerospace's Jacksonville site. You'll assemble electronic components and systems, including harnesses, sensors, igniters, leads, and exciters, while learning to solder and perform functional testing. You'll be part of a team that uses lean and 5S practices to continuously improve products and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual & basic measurement inspection of parts subsequent to assembly steps.
  • Cut, strip, and crimp wire.
  • Performs functional tests using a variety of equipment to verify accuracy and functionality (i.e. electrical, helium, and leak tests).
  • Operate test equipment.
  • Obtain all required certifications.
  • Safely handle hazardous materials.
  • Use a wide variety of hand and/or power tools.
  • Conduct weight measuring.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior assembly experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret dimensional measurements (calipers, and scales).
  • Basic math, computer, and ERP skills.
  • Basic written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to cross-train as required and be capable of reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Experience in soldering, electronics manufacturing, assembly, and brazing is preferred.
  • Dimensional and electrical training.

Qualifications

As an essential part of our team, you must be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining. You must also be able to lift up to 25 lbs and be willing to work shifts beyond a standard workweek. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a background check and drug screen (as applicable).

Desirable Qualifications

  • Possess basic math, computer, and ERP skills, along with basic written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to cross-train as required and be capable of reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Experience in soldering, electronics manufacturing, assembly, and brazing is preferred.
  • Dimensional and electrical training.

The Jacksonville site manufactures electronic component parts and has a Repair & Overhaul shop for GE Engines. The site is climate-controlled and embraces diversity and career advancement. We have 9 active employee resource groups.
