Job Overview
Eaton's ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Production Assembler - 1st Shift. The company is a leader in the design and production of critical power distribution products for many specific segments. The Production Assembler - 1st Shift role offers a full-time work week of 40 hours and potential overtime. Full benefits and a 401(k) plan are offered on day one of employment.
What You’ll Do
- Timely and accurately build sub-assemblies and assemblies to customer specifications involving complex and repetitive wiring and mechanics for Power Distribution Units (PDU) and transformers.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to build sub-assemblies and assemblies.
- Use cranes to pick up and move transformers and materials.
- Be responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assembly.
- Use various fixtures, gauges, hand tools, and power tools to assemble, adjust, or repair product.
- Perform point-to-point wiring during the assembly of Power Distribution Units.
- Work with sheet metal to build transformer legs and additional components related to transformer assembly.
- Ability to operate oven and VPI tanks as part of the assembly process
- Inspect completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and make necessary adjustments when required in order to meet quality goals.
- Adhere to company, environmental, health, and safety rules and regulations.
- Provide process and safety improvement ideas.
- Ensure machines and tools are properly calibrated and perform housekeeping duties as necessary using the principles of 5S+
Qualifications
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.
- Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered.
- Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- 1 year of assembly experience
- Experience in production, packaging, or construction.
- Previous experience with standard operating procedures.
- Previous experience with product electrical assembly, maintenance, and/or repair.
- Basic working knowledge of and experience with computers.
