About the Role
Rothera is building the premier prediction market in partnership with Robinhood and Susquehanna International Group. The Product Specialist - Clearing is a key contributor who owns end-to-end delivery of specific workstreams within Rothera's clearinghouse product roadmap. This hands-on role, reporting to Senior Director, Product Manager - Clearing, combines growing subject matter expertise in clearing to translate roadmap priorities into shipped functionality.
Responsibilities
- Leverage subject matter expertise in clearing to own product delivery for defined features and workstreams, collaborating with clients, operations, risk, compliance, and software engineers from concept through launch.
- Clearinghouse Product Development:
- Own the development and implementation of parts of the clearing system, regulatory reporting, and post-trade functionalities.
- Partner with the Risk department on real-time risk management initiatives, including margin engine configuration, collateral valuation haircuts, and netting and settlement workflows.
- Maintain and evolve data models for trade settlement, position management, and transaction reporting, ensuring data integrity across the clearing lifecycle.
- Support clearing member services and portal functionality, including integration of third-party platforms and vendors via FIX protocol, proprietary APIs, or enterprise message queues (e.g., Kafka).
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform roadmap decisions within your area of ownership.
- Translate clearing business logic into detailed functional specifications, including API services (REST/Websocket), workflow diagrams, data schemas, and edge-case exception workflows for engineering implementation.
- Customer Support:
- Serve as the main point of technical and product support to customers on features within your ownership, collaborating closely with internal stakeholders.
- Ensure high-quality service delivery and issue resolution.
- Support the Operations team with customer technical onboarding, API conformance, and customer connectivity.
- Manage day-to-day relationships with key customers and vendors on your workstreams.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of product management experience in capital markets, with a track record of shipping features for clearing infrastructure, clearing ledger systems, or transaction processing engines.
- Solid technical understanding of the post-trade lifecycle for listed derivatives or prediction markets, including trade ingest, position management, and end-of-day settlement cycles, across Futures, Options, Swaps, or Prediction Markets.
- Familiarity with Futures Commission Merchants and their integration with DCMs and DCOs.
- Experience with digital assets and blockchains is a plus.
- Experience defining requirements for customer reporting or regulatory reporting infrastructure (e.g., CFTC, SEC, or EMIR compliance), and reviewing system logs for financial accuracy.
- Ability to query and analyze data independently using SQL or scripting languages (e.g., Python) to validate system behavior, investigate production anomalies, or write data-driven product requirements.
- Familiarity with modern software architecture patterns (microservices, event-driven architecture, distributed ledgers) and the ability to discuss technical trade-offs with engineers.

Pay
This position has a base salary of $130,000-$150,000 per year, plus participation in a discretionary annual incentive bonus program.
Schedule
This is a full-time, in-person hybrid position.
