Product Manager I - Shared Services
About the role

As a Product Manager, you will partner with corporate stakeholders and operations to develop products and capabilities that deliver elevated customer and operational experiences. You will support efforts to eliminate customer and employee pain points and provide new capabilities that grow the business and improve operational efficiencies.
This role focuses on EFM's Shared Services products, including financial and operational technology products with a primary emphasis on tax technology and asset-backed securitization (ABS) financing platforms. You will drive product strategy, prioritization, and execution across complex financial systems supporting tax compliance, financial reporting, treasury operations, and business process automation.

This position is full time, based in St. Louis, and requires normal business working hours of Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The role is eligible for a hybrid schedule, working out of both our Lakeside campus in Maryland Heights, MO, and our Corporate Campus in Clayton, MO.
Responsibilities
- Thoroughly understand and advocate for solutions to customers’ problems as well as the business's goals and objectives, representing that point of view on a day-to-day basis.
- Own defining the problem to be solved; develop and communicate business cases, vision, and strategy to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with company strategies and goals.
- Collaborate with Product Strategy and Development, Digital Product, Customer Experience, and User Experience to define and prioritize the product roadmap.
- Own the selection and prioritization of product enhancements; ensure requests and feedback are seamlessly integrated into the product roadmap and development processes by playing a key role in planning, refinement, user acceptance testing, retrospectives, sprints, and scrums.
- Manage the implementation of product development projects with internal teams and third-party vendors to ensure successful completion within budget and timeline.
- Develop product line communications and drive engagement.
- Develop and curate new ideas, determine which ideas will achieve critical objectives, and communicate the status back to stakeholders.
- Review new and existing product specifications to ensure the scope meets strategic objectives and commercial viability.
- Confirm completion of product development and determine readiness for market launch, ensuring delivery of well-aligned, high-value solutions through product life cycle and agile development methodologies.
- Monitor key performance indicators for the product against industry-leading benchmarks.
- Obtain market information by performing primary research with field operations and other business partners as well as reviewing secondary research materials.
- Identify needs by talking to customers, monitoring feedback from various listening tools, and collaborating with cross-functional business partners.
- Analyze and define market and competitive conditions; stay up-to-date on new technologies to best serve product development goals.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Serve as Product Manager for critical financial technology platforms, including a commercial tax engine solution and asset-backed securitization (ABS) financing platform, by partnering with business stakeholders to deliver scalable, compliant, and efficient solutions.
- Define and manage product roadmaps, requirements, and priorities that support tax calculation, compliance, financial reporting, treasury operations, lending, and financing processes across multiple business functions.
- Lead cross-functional efforts to assess and manage upstream and downstream impacts of system enhancements, integrations, data flows, and process changes across enterprise applications, data platforms, and third-party vendors.
- Partner with Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Finance, and Information Technology teams, as well as external software providers, to ensure successful implementation, testing, adoption, and ongoing support of complex financial systems and products.
- Drive product life-cycle activities, including business case development, requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, release planning, performance measurement, and continuous product improvement.
- Utilize data, analytics, and stakeholder feedback to identify opportunities for automation, operational efficiency, risk reduction, and improved user experience within financial and tax-related business processes.
- Embed with cross-functional project teams to represent Shared Services product interests and integration requirements.
- Coordinate closely with other Product Managers within and across the company’s product portfolio to align roadmaps, communicate changes, and resolve cross-product dependencies.
Qualifications
- Must reside in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area.
- Must have a Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Product Owner/Manager, Product Development Manager, Technical Project Manager, Business Analyst, or equivalent.
- Proven ability to craft and deliver impactful presentations tailored to diverse audiences.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
- Must have the ability to meet all work-from-home technical requirements.
- Experience managing or supporting enterprise financial, accounting, tax, treasury, lending, securitization, billing, payment, or regulatory compliance products.
- Experience working with commercial software platforms such as Vertex, Avalara, Thomson Reuters, Moody's, PeopleSoft, SAP, Oracle Financials, Workday Financials, or similar enterprise solutions.
- Knowledge of indirect tax, sales and use tax, tax calculation engines, tax compliance processes, or tax technology implementations.
- Experience with financial services, banking, treasury management, debt financing, asset-backed securitization (ABS), lending platforms, or related financial products.
- Experience managing integrations between enterprise applications, data platforms, APIs, and third-party software vendors.
- Experience partnering with Accounting, Finance, Tax, Treasury, and Information Technology teams to deliver complex business solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience evaluating business processes, financial data, and system dependencies.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical or financial concepts into clear recommendations for business stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Experience working within Agile product delivery environments, including backlog management, requirements definition, testing, release planning, and stakeholder management.
- Experience leading software implementations, modernization efforts, or digital transformation initiatives involving multiple business and technology teams.
