Product Finisher - 1st Shift
Gemini is looking for a Production Finisher to join the team at our Cannon Falls, MN location, specializing in crating and shipping. This role operates under general supervision, demonstrating high proficiency in every step of the letter finishing process according to current job procedures.

Responsibilities
- Inspects, builds shipping containers, and ships final product.
- Uses computerized systems to facilitate shipping of products.
- Belt sands gates, flashing, and unwanted roughness from the returns of metal letters and logos.
- Drills and taps letters or stud weld parts for further handling or customer installation.
- Hand finishes areas on parts inaccessible during belt sanding.
- Blasts the returns of parts to create a consistent, uniform frosted finish.
- Polishes parts to a “near mirror” consistent finish.
- Washes parts to remove polishing compounds or unwanted residue.
- Stroke sands parts to remove rough outer layers, creating a smooth finish for painting, polishing, or anodizing.
- Edges and racks parts according to color and requested ship date.
- Maintains awareness of order dates, reworks, and remakes, prioritizing workflow accordingly.
- Communicates needs, problems, questions, and ideas with Lead Person or Supervisor.
- Signs and dates quality check sheets after order completion.
- Logs completed orders and updates the daily area dollar total for finishing, stroke sanding, and polishing.
- Maintains awareness of and strives to achieve all plant goals.
- Monitors inventories/supplies and notifies Lead Person to reorder.
- Identifies process improvement opportunities and recommends changes to Department Supervisor.
- Maintains positive and productive working relationships with all department employees, Leads, and Supervisors.
- Follows all safe work practices as outlined in company Safety policies; attends and participates in monthly safety meetings.
- May perform similar duties as assigned, including backup/helper roles in anodizing, painting, pouring, timesaving, shipping, oxidizing, patina, and other departments.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent demonstrated competency through work experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Some computer skills required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
Pay
USD $19.36 - $25.38 per hour.
Schedule
Full-time, on-site. Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (5/8-hour days). Overtime scheduled as needed.
