Finisher/Painter 1st Shift

About the role

Merric Millwork and Seating, a leading manufacturer with over 30 years of experience, is expanding its capabilities in custom upholstery, metalwork, powder coating, and stone. We collaborate with clients nationwide on diverse projects in hospitality, restaurant, sporting venue, and senior living industries. This role involves applying a variety of finishes using spray equipment, with one position on first shift and another leading the finishing department on second shift after training.

Responsibilities

• Prepares product for finishing by sanding surfaces and quality checking for cracks or holes.
• Applies a variety of finishes to achieve high-end finished products using various types of spray equipment.
• Sprays stain, finish, and mixes custom color.
• Understands and follows finishing processes consistently, evaluating work quality and materials used.
• Ensures the finishing team completes tasks to deliver quality products in a timely manner.
• Handles multiple priorities with accuracy, attention to detail, and urgency.
• Performs touch-up repairs as necessary.
• Works with direct supervisor to discuss work progress, schedules, materials, and supplies, providing project status updates and feedback.
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment, including proper cleaning of equipment, finishing booth, and workspace.

Skills

• Ability to mix stains, dyes, and pigments to create custom colors.
• Ability to color match.
• Ability to mix stains to match wood finish samples.
• Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines and perform work with minimal supervision.

Schedule

1st shift: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
