Painter 1st Shift

About the role

Base pay starts at $17.12 per hour. Painters are responsible for all aspects of painting metal, including set up, operation, inspection, and material handling activities. Painters are expected to work in a safe, productive, and cooperative manner in accordance with Cornerstone Building Brands policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting paint finishes to ensure adherence to quality standards (Quality Control)
• Cleaning and maintaining spray painting equipment (Equipment Maintenance)
• Following safety procedures and wearing appropriate protective gear (Safety)
• Mixing, matching, and managing inventory of paints, solvents, and other materials (Material Management)
• Understanding and following manufacturing specifications and processes (Production Processes)
• Identifying and addressing issues related to the painting process (Problem Solving)
• Tracking daily usage of paints, thinners, and other solvents (Inventory Control)
• Applying paint, varnish, or other finishes using spray guns, brushes, rollers, or other tools (Paint Application)
• Completing all tasks as assigned by department leadership (Additional Duties)

Requirements

• Previous manufacturing and/or painting experience preferred
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math skills as job duties require
• Common sense, positive attitude, and demonstrated excellent attendance
• Quality and safety conscious, team player
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis
• Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with people
• Extensive standing, frequent bending, sitting, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting, and walking
• Must be at least 18 years of age to apply

Required personal protective equipment, overhead crane, carts, dollies, and some hand tools. Safe work performance is required from each Associate at all times.
