Product Application Specialist

About the role

The Product Application Specialist plays a key role in helping grow DFR's refrigerated systems business through interaction with Customers, Sales Representatives, Dealers, Engineers of Record (EORs), and Regional Sales Managers. The ideal candidate can configure products to meet application needs and manage multiple projects concurrently.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with third-party engineers, customers, vendors, and outside sales to determine customer requirements and specifications for jobs to be designed and understand how product should be applied
• Generate customer legend sheets / specifications
• Calculate refrigeration load requirements and parameters
• Construct full end-to-end proposals (entire refrigeration systems) for products to include racks, gas coolers, compressors, condensers, evaporators, controls, and any other ancillary equipment to ensure the product is applied to customer expectations
• Act as a consultant to customers on new store installations or full-store remodels and help shape demand to best solutions
• Utilize proprietary product application software to turn around proposals within established service levels
• Build quality into every step and ensure, once an order is entered, that all functions downstream in the process have all information needed
• Enter customer orders in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or minimum of 5 years in HVAC/R field (technician or product application)
• Diploma from an accredited HVAC/R institution with 2 years HVAC/R experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

• 2-3 years’ direct experience in technical role within commercial refrigeration industry
