About the role
The Procurement Team Lead position is a 'working manager' role within Rosendin Electric, a leading EMPLOYEE-OWNED electrical contractor. This role oversees a work group responsible for procurement of various materials and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and mentor the team to meet or exceed performance goals and expectations.
- Evaluate and ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Plan and execute procurement processes, including pre-bid closeout.
- Manage and implement cost savings opportunities and process standardization.
- Support the estimating department by obtaining budgetary quotes and preparing bids.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers and consult with legal and management.
- Monitor and oversee the competitive bid process using RFPs or RFQs.
- Qualify and evaluate suppliers for materials and equipment.
- Lead aggregated sourcing events to enhance procurement value.
- Collaborate on larger category strategy initiatives to improve margins and efficiency.
- Review supplier metrics and engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Manage supplier relationships through SRM.
- Assess material availability and communicate with stakeholders.
- Communicate and enforce procurement policies.
- Develop and review procurement analytics, reports, and deliverables.
- Oversee the development and implementation of procurement and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee projections, financial planning, delivery schedules, and reporting.
- Verify material accuracy upon receipt and oversee the material review process.
- Enter documentation into the purchasing system.
- Review and approve invoices with vendors and A/P.
- Oversee the development and use of 3rd-party Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs).
- Oversee the return material and ensure proper and timely credit to the project.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of electrical procurement experience.
- Combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
- Thorough understanding of electrical and construction principles.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent supervisory and mentoring abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, etc.).
- Ability to adapt to and support ongoing process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to handle pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive approach.
