About the role

The Procurement Team Lead position is a 'working manager' role within Rosendin, a leading EMPLOYEE-OWNED electrical contractor. This role oversees a work group responsible for procurement of various materials and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and mentor the team to meet or exceed performance goals and expectations.
  • Evaluate compliance with procurement policies and procedures and document requirements.
  • Plan and execute procurement processes from pre-bid to post-execution.
  • Manage and coach staff personnel, providing performance evaluations.
  • Support the estimating department by obtaining budgetary quotes and preparing bids.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers, consulting with legal and management.
  • Monitor and oversee the competitive bidding process, including RFPs and RFQs.
  • Qualify and evaluate suppliers for materials and equipment.
  • Lead aggregated sourcing events to enhance procurement value.
  • Collaborate on larger category strategy initiatives to improve margins and efficiency.
  • Review supplier metrics and metrics related to procurement and operations.
  • Ensure recommended awards align with the approved decision model and delegation of authority.
  • Communicate and enforce procurement policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement procurement and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee projections, financial planning, delivery schedules, and reporting.
  • Verify materials upon receipt and oversee the material review process.
  • Enter documentation into the purchasing system.
  • Review and approve invoices, resolving issues with vendors and accounts payable.
  • Manage third-party Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs).
  • Ensure proper and timely credits for returned materials.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of electrical equipment and construction materials.
  • Working knowledge of procurement techniques, procedures, policies, and accounting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong supervisory skills and ability to mentor Procurement Agents and Sr. Procurement Agents.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in using computers and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing requirements, and work under time pressure.
  • Self-motivation, proactive attitude, and effective teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum 5 years’ electrical procurement experience.
  • Combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
