About the role
The Procurement Team Lead position is a 'working manager' role within Rosendin, a leading EMPLOYEE-OWNED electrical contractor. This role oversees a work group responsible for procurement of various materials and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and mentor the team to meet or exceed performance goals and expectations.
- Evaluate compliance with procurement policies and procedures and document requirements.
- Plan and execute procurement processes from pre-bid to post-execution.
- Manage and coach staff personnel, providing performance evaluations.
- Support the estimating department by obtaining budgetary quotes and preparing bids.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers, consulting with legal and management.
- Monitor and oversee the competitive bidding process, including RFPs and RFQs.
- Qualify and evaluate suppliers for materials and equipment.
- Lead aggregated sourcing events to enhance procurement value.
- Collaborate on larger category strategy initiatives to improve margins and efficiency.
- Review supplier metrics and metrics related to procurement and operations.
- Ensure recommended awards align with the approved decision model and delegation of authority.
- Communicate and enforce procurement policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement procurement and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee projections, financial planning, delivery schedules, and reporting.
- Verify materials upon receipt and oversee the material review process.
- Enter documentation into the purchasing system.
- Review and approve invoices, resolving issues with vendors and accounts payable.
- Manage third-party Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs).
- Ensure proper and timely credits for returned materials.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of electrical equipment and construction materials.
- Working knowledge of procurement techniques, procedures, policies, and accounting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong supervisory skills and ability to mentor Procurement Agents and Sr. Procurement Agents.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in using computers and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing requirements, and work under time pressure.
- Self-motivation, proactive attitude, and effective teamwork.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 5 years’ electrical procurement experience.
- Combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

- Computer proficiency, particularly Microsoft Office and Oracle.
