Our government client in Long Island City, NY is seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Analyst to support a high-impact technology and operations team. This role is responsible for managing the full procurement lifecycle, ensuring purchasing activities are compliant, efficient, and deliver the best value while supporting critical public sector initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and manage procurement documents, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs), solicitations, and related contract documentation.
- Analyze vendor proposals, bids, pricing, and cost structures to support procurement decisions.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local procurement regulations and policies.
- Prepare procurement reports, performance metrics, and status updates for leadership and stakeholders.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to internal departments on procurement strategies, policies, and best practices.
- Partner with legal, finance, and program teams throughout the procurement process.
- Assist in improving procurement processes and maintaining accurate documentation.
- Mentor junior procurement staff and support knowledge sharing across the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional procurement experience, preferably within a government or public sector environment.
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, competitive bidding processes, and contract administration.
- Experience preparing and evaluating RFPs, bids, and vendor proposals.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Pay
$35/hr (W2)
Schedule
40 hours/week, onsite in Long Island City, NY 11101. Contract duration: 12 months. In-person interviews may require 2 rounds.
