About the role
This Procurement Associate role requires 3+ years of experience with sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services for elevator manufacturing operations. The goal is to ensure timely availability of quality parts at competitive costs while maintaining strong supplier relationships and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for mechanical, electrical, electronics, and structural components used in elevator systems.
- Manage purchase requisitions (PR) and convert them into purchase orders (PO) in the ERP system (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Ensure timely procurement of materials to support production schedules and new product development.
- Coordinate with logistics for inbound deliveries and customs clearance (if applicable).
- Resolve issues related to delivery delays, part shortages, and discrepancies.
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities through value engineering, supplier consolidation, and localization initiatives.
- Work closely with engineering for alternative material or supplier development.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Planning teams to understand material requirements.
- Address quality issues and support root cause analysis with suppliers.
- Participate in new product introduction (NPI) projects for sourcing new components.
Qualifications
An Engineering Graduate is preferred, with minimum 3+ years of relevant experience.
Skills
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (fabrication, machining, casting, electronics).
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/MS Dynamics).
- Knowledge of Should Costing, cost breakdown analysis, and supplier audits.
- Good communication skills and ability to negotiate with suppliers.
