About the role

This Procurement Agent II position provides procurement support from quotation to delivery using current systems and processes. The incumbent delivers this support through excellent customer service to Project Management and Field personnel, including RFI/RFP/RFQ activities when relevant, analyzing quotations for total value, creating/verifying/editing purchase and rental orders/contracts/requests, and submitting orders to FTI’s network of suppliers. Additional duties include coordinating material/equipment deliveries and performing related clerical tasks. The role also involves identifying, qualifying, and contacting potential vendors to solicit bids or quotes and recommending alternative vendor options.

    • Applies purchasing/trade material knowledge to each transaction.
    • Prepares purchase orders using established purchasing procedures.
    • Works with customers to establish clear bills of materials with appropriate specifications.
    • Participates in project start-up meetings.
    • Demonstrates exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
    • Expedites supplier shipments, deliveries, and/or pickups as needed.
    • Applies contract pricing to purchases or makes recommendations.
    • Performs basic statistical methods and data analysis; compares costs of alternative options.
    • Uses FTI PO/ERP systems to complete required tasks.
    • Sets requirements, executes POs, and consults on inventory management.
    • Provides effective or innovative solutions to problems.
    • Applies basic knowledge of Six Sigma and/or problem-solving methodologies.
    • Communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders, verbally and in writing.
  • Negotiating
    • Negotiates and obtains quotes for materials and rental equipment.
    • Assists in translating negotiation outcomes into supplier agreements/contracts.
    • Prepares preliminary data analysis to support negotiation preparation.
    • Participates in selective external negotiations.
    • Visits stakeholder projects to represent the Procurement function to Operations.
    • Effectively negotiates with internal/external stakeholders and builds trust quickly.
    • Documents negotiated agreements.

Requirements

  • Education: Associate’s Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, or a relevant trade/industry technical program.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of Purchasing/Buying experience in the electrical industry or other relevant business.
  • Travel: Less than 10%, with limited periodic travel to different FTI office/jobsite locations.

Skills

  • Proficiency in PC and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Basic knowledge of the electrical construction trade and purchasing procedures, processes, and practices.
  • Elementary knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of Six Sigma and/or problem-solving methodologies.
  • Basic knowledge of ERP systems, Procure-to-Pay functionality, and proper process sequences.

Schedule

This position works between 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required.
