About the role

The Procurement Agent II supports the procurement process from quotation to delivery, ensuring efficient and effective operations. This role involves providing excellent customer service to Project Management and Field personnel, handling RFI/RFP/RFQ activities, analyzing quotations, creating and editing purchase and rental orders, and assisting with material/equipment deliveries.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively communicate issues/concerns/delays/opportunities to stakeholders
  • Resolve material/supplier issues that pose potential disruptions
  • Manage supplier shipments, deliveries, and pickups
  • Identify, qualify, and contact potential vendors for bids or quotes
  • Recommend alternative vendor options to customers
  • Apply purchasing/trade material knowledge to transactions
  • Prepare purchase orders using established procedures
  • Establish clear bill of materials with appropriate specifications
  • Participate in project start-up meetings
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers
  • Perform calculations and compare costs of alternative options
  • Utilize FTI PO/ERP systems to complete tasks
  • Set requirements, execute PO's, and manage inventory levels
  • Offer effective or innovative solutions to problems
  • Negotiate and obtain quotes for materials and rental equipment
  • Absorb and translate negotiation outcomes into supplier agreements/contracts
  • Prepare preliminary data analysis to support negotiation preparation
  • Represent the Procurement function at stakeholder projects
  • Control and document negotiated agreements
  • Apply continuous improvement concepts to overcome obstacles
  • Use standard problem-solving techniques including cause and effect analysis
  • Apply innovative approaches to solving problems
  • Drive for results by planning, completing, and implementing assignments in a timely manner
  • Assist in the onboarding and development of new Procurement Agents
  • Position yourself for success through career development and continued education programs

Requirements

  • Education: Associate’s Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, or relevant trade/industry technical program
  • Experience: 2-5 years of Purchasing/Buying experience in electrical industry or other relevant business
  • Travel: Less than 10%, with limited periodic travel to different FTI office/jobsite locations
  • Work Schedule: Between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday

Qualifications

  • Proficient in using a PC and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic knowledge of the electrical construction trade and purchasing procedures, processes, and practices
