Process Engineer – Chemical Manufacturing
About the role
A multi-billion dollar global technology leader in the chemical industry is hiring a Process Engineer to provide technical service and support to an assigned production unit. This is a hands-on technical role focused on driving improvements in quality, cost, safety, and emissions across daily unit operations, with real visibility into engineering, production, and regulatory decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, environmentally sound working environment and support adherence to regulatory requirements
- Collaborate on annual budgets, operating reviews, and economic studies
- Monitor daily unit operations and identify opportunities to improve quality, reduce costs, enhance safety, and lower emissions
- Develop and conduct tests to evaluate proposed operating changes affecting product quality, production capacity, or cost
- Investigate the feasibility of new technology, safety improvements, and planned capacity changes
- Provide technical support for PSM/RMP and other regulatory programs
- Design and document chemical processes for new and improved products, including equipment selection and process scale-up
- Coordinate process development efforts with engineering, production, and management to maximize equipment uptime and product quality
- Write procedures and train personnel on safe operation of new equipment
- Lead selected projects, including planning, coordination, and progress reporting
- Troubleshoot and design improvements to optimize plant operations and reduce costs
- Supervise technicians as needed
Requirements
- BS in Chemical Engineering required
- Chemical process experience in manufacturing, petrochemicals, or a related industry required
- 10+ years of experience as a Process Engineer in a chemical or petroleum manufacturing environment strongly desired
- Comfort working across cross-cultural teams
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, maintain good mobility, work 12-hour shifts, and climb stairs multiple times per shift
- Strong communication skills and ability to interface across engineering, maintenance, and management teams

Benefits
Up to $110,000 base (depending on experience), plus sign-on bonus, 8-12% annual bonus, strong paid relocation assistance
