Probation and Parole Assistant - District 1 CSC

About the role

Responsibilities

• Supervises offenders in various activities including housing units, educational, recreational, religious, and treatment programs.
• Performs routine checks and counts of offenders, inspects housing units, and addresses safety/security concerns.
• Interviews offenders to gather information about their backgrounds and conducts background verifications.
• Retrieves and enters information from various databases, handles warrant-related tasks, and assists with scheduling changes for offenders on electronic monitoring.
• Assists with the maintenance of databases, inventory, and logs, troubleshoots equipment issues, and responds to emergency calls.
• Monitors offender movements, intervenes in emergencies, and administers substance abuse assessments.
• Searches for contraband, provides after-hours assistance, and performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• A minimum of 18 years old.
• A valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must pass a background investigation administered by the Missouri Department of Corrections.

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and provide emergency medical assistance.
• Proficiency in computer systems and databases.
• Knowledge of criminal justice procedures and laws.

Pay

• Shift differentials available based on shift and facility type.
• A guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years.

Schedule

• Work shifts that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
