About the role

Responsibilities
- Supervises offenders in various activities including housing units, educational, recreational, religious, and treatment programs.
- Performs routine checks and counts of offenders, inspects housing units, and addresses safety/security concerns.
- Interviews offenders to gather information about their backgrounds and conducts background verifications.
- Retrieves and enters information from various databases, handles warrant-related tasks, and assists with scheduling changes for offenders on electronic monitoring.
- Assists with the maintenance of databases, inventory, and logs, troubleshoots equipment issues, and responds to emergency calls.
- Monitors offender movements, intervenes in emergencies, and administers substance abuse assessments.
- Searches for contraband, provides after-hours assistance, and performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A minimum of 18 years old.
- A valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
- Must pass a background investigation administered by the Missouri Department of Corrections.
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and provide emergency medical assistance.
- Proficiency in computer systems and databases.
- Knowledge of criminal justice procedures and laws.

Pay
- Shift differentials available based on shift and facility type.
- A guaranteed 1% pay increase for every two years of continuous service up to 20 years.
Schedule
- Work shifts that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
