PRN Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)
About the role
As an Enhance Rehabilitation occupational therapist assistant, you will work under the guidance of an occupational therapist to assist in treating patients. Your responsibilities include implementing individualized treatment plans developed by Occupational Therapists, assisting patients through various phases of therapy, communicating with patients about their treatment, and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing occupational therapy treatment programs based on each patient’s needs.
- Aid patients during all phases of occupational therapy treatment and techniques.
- Discuss treatment options with patients and document patient conditions and responses in charts after each session.
- Communicate continuously with Occupational Therapists, Directors of Rehab, and facility staff regarding patient progress and needs.
- Operate and apply knowledge of standard occupational therapy equipment.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field, and be eligible for state licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
Qualifications
Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with electronic health records systems is beneficial.
Skills
Excellent communication skills, manual dexterity, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are required. Knowledge of occupational therapy principles and techniques is necessary.
