About the role

As an Enhance Rehabilitation occupational therapist assistant, you will work under the guidance of an occupational therapist to support a dynamic team. Your responsibilities include assisting patients in following an individualized plan of care developed by Occupational Therapists, ensuring that every patient receives quality treatment leading to excellent functional outcomes. You will also assist in developing and implementing occupational therapy treatment programs tailored to each patient’s specific needs, assist patients through all phases of treatment, communicate with patients about their treatment, document patient conditions and responses to treatments in charts after each visit, and maintain continuous communication with Occupational Therapists, Directors of Rehab, and facility staff. Additionally, you will operate and apply your knowledge of standard occupational therapy equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in following an individualized plan of care developed by Occupational Therapists
  • Aid in the development and implementation of occupational therapy treatment programs based on each patient's needs
  • Support patients through all phases of occupational therapy treatment
  • Communicate with patients about their treatment and document their conditions and responses in charts
  • Maintain continuous communication with Occupational Therapists, Directors of Rehab, and facility staff
  • Operate and apply knowledge of standard occupational therapy equipment

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong educational background in occupational therapy or a closely related field, along with relevant certifications such as Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). You must possess excellent communication skills, be able to work independently and as part of a team, and have a compassionate and patient demeanor. Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) certification
  • Current CPR certification
