About the role
The successful candidate will join Cooley's Private Equity practice, providing legal services to private equity and portfolio companies. This role requires a 3rd-6th year attorney with experience in private equity and M&A, including drafting and negotiating complex transaction documents.
Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate purchase and merger agreements, LLC and LP agreements, and other ancillary transaction documents
- Work closely with client business teams to provide strategic and business-oriented legal advice
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
- Contribute to the development of new business opportunities and enhance existing client relationships
Requirements
- Excellent drafting, writing, and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Versatile and able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Experience in private equity and M&A preferred
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- Passionate about private equity and M&A
- Strong academic record
- Experience in a large law firm setting

Pay
The expected annual pay range for this position is $260,000 - $390,000, with final offer amount dependent on geographic location, experience, and skillset.
