The Private Equity team at Oliver Wyman in North America is hiring consultants to support its rapid growth. The team works with private equity investors throughout the deal transaction lifecycle: from opportunity identification through due diligence and post-transaction value realization. Oliver Wyman takes a multi-specialist approach, bringing teams with deep industry and functional expertise, supported by proprietary approaches and a world-class network. This enables clients to achieve differentiated results on deals and post-transaction. The role focuses on serving private equity clients in the Education sector, including higher education, K-12, and EdTech.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute due diligence engagements and/or post-transaction engagements supporting private equity funds and their portfolio companies.
  • Ensure findings are insightful and data-driven.
  • Provide thought leadership at a strategic level while managing the technical and operational details of execution.
  • Forge strong relationships with clients and team members through excellent communication.

Requirements

  • Professional working experience with exposure to commercial and operational due diligence in a management consulting firm.
  • Experience working across or within industries in Private Equity.
  • Knowledge and in-depth experience with customer research techniques (interviews, surveys, focus groups, etc.).
  • A strong background in strategic problem-solving with demonstrable analytical skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in both formal and informal settings.
  • Fluency in English.
  • An undergraduate or advanced degree from a strong academic program.
  • Initiative to seek out opportunities to learn new skills and apply existing ones.
  • Creativity and the ability to generate novel ideas to solve clients’ biggest problems.
  • Aptitude for analytical work, including interpreting large data sets and identifying key issues in complex challenges.
  • Willingness to collaborate fluidly and respectfully with a talented team.

Pay

The applicable base salary range for this role is $225,000 - $240,000. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

Schedule

Oliver Wyman is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections, and professional development benefits of working in the office. All colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.
