Principal Data and Ontology Architect - AI Enablement

About the role

We are seeking an AI Data & Ontology Enablement Lead to support the implementation of data and ontology standards within Control Tower Operations, facilitating scalable and governed AI initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Supporting enterprise ontology strategy, applying semantic modeling standards, and serving as the subject-matter authority on ontology topics.
• Partnering with Business Units to understand domain concepts, guide ontology contributions, and enable repeatable onboarding for AI projects.
• Acting as a liaison between Business Units and Global IT to translate data practices, standards, and workflows, ensuring alignment and reducing fragmented requests.
• Educating and supporting data stewards on governance, workflows, and data enablement, fostering consistent standards across units.
• Supporting integration of data and ontology into Control Tower workflows, providing operational insights, and identifying systemic risks.
• Ensuring semantic integrity, data quality, and risk management to support trustworthy AI solutions.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or related fields.
• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, governance, ontology development, or semantic modeling across multiple business units.
• Expertise in ontology design, semantic modeling, and translating technical workflows into business guidance.
• Strong influencing skills, systems thinking, and ability to operate in evolving environments.
• Desirable skills include knowledge of OWL, RDF/RDFS, graph databases (Neo4j, Amazon Neptune), and SPARQL.

Workstyle: Onsite at the designated office with limited telecommuting possible.
