Principal Data and Ontology Architect - AI Enablement

About the role

The AI Data & Ontology Enablement Lead supports implementing data and ontology standards within Control Tower Operations to facilitate scalable, governed AI initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Bridging Business Units, Global IT, and Control Tower Operations to ensure shared understanding of data practices, workflows, and requirements.
• Supporting enterprise ontology strategy, applying standards for semantic modeling, and serving as an authority on ontology topics.
• Partnering with Business Units to translate domain concepts into ontology-aligned data structures and guiding data onboarding processes.
• Facilitating communication between Business Units and Global IT to align data platforms, workflows, and standards.
• Educating data stewards on governance, workflows, and data contribution for AI enablement.
• Supporting integration of data and ontology into Control Tower workflows, ensuring semantic integrity, data quality, and risk management.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in data architecture, governance, ontology development, or semantic modeling.
• Expertise in ontology design, semantic modeling, and domain-driven data architecture.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into business guidance and influence stakeholders.
• Experience with ontology languages (OWL, RDF), graph databases (Neo4j, Amazon Neptune), and querying with SPARQL.

Schedule

Onsite at a designated office, with potential for one telecommuting day per week.
