Primary Care Assistant - Medical Assistant

About the role

Assists the physician and office staff with selected duties to include clerical processing, patient preparation, scheduling, lab, x-ray and medical records. Performs patient care activities consistent with the established standards of clinical practice.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care activities consistent with the established standards of clinical practice.
• Communicates with patients, families, visitors and employees in a caring, friendly, personal and professional manner.
• Carries out his or her responsibilities and integrates into his or her work ethic the Mercy Philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respect for human life and the dignity of each person, applying Christian values to all crucial human issues in the area over which he or she has responsibility.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• One year of applicable patient care experience or applicable medical office experience preferred.
