Medical Assistant - Primary Care

About the role
As a Medical Assistant (MA-C), you’ll help with administrative and clinical tasks such as scheduling appointments, updating information in EPIC, and taking patients’ vital signs. The MA II works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care. An MA II performs all aspects of the MA I role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for the assigned clinic/location. You’ll support the delivery of cost-effective, clinically competent, reliable healthcare by following core values of Justice, Excellence, Dignity, Integrity, and Compassion.

Responsibilities
- Assist in providing patient care under the delegation of a licensed practitioner
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and updating patient information in EPIC
- Take patients’ vital signs during appointments
- Administer injections and medication as directed
- Perform all duties expected of an MA I, with full competence in clinical needs for the assigned clinic
- Work in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands-on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants, or
- Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program, or
- Completion of two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces, or
- Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes clinical skills such as obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration, or
- Washington Medical Assistant Certification upon hire
- National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
- 6 months of healthcare experience
- 6 months of Medical Assistant experience

Pay
The pay range for this position is $26.47 - $40.49 per hour. The successful candidate’s placement on the wage range will be determined based on relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available.
