Medical Assistant - Primary Care

Responsibilities

• Patient Preparation & Clinical Support (25%): Rooms patients in a respectful, patient-centered manner. Obtains and documents vital signs, height, weight and required intake information in the EHR. Determines and documents reason for visit and updates histories appropriately. Performs medication reconciliation per protocol. Prepares exam rooms, equipment and supplies prior to provider entry. Assists medical/nursing providers, or as delegated by the nurse team leader, with: Physical exams, Gynecological exams, Minor/procedures/sutures, Wound Care, LARC procedures, EKG, Nebulizer treatments, Audiology/tympanometry, Other procedures as assigned. Provides supportive communication during procedures to promote comfort and safety, and understanding.
