About the Role

The Pricing Manager will participate in the proposal development process with focused support on the preparation of the pricing component using economic analysis and all operational data available at the time of the opportunity. Bid pricing responsibilities and the creation of a strategic, responsible, marketable, profitable price will be the main focus of this position. Between active proposal developments, this position may assist in other related projects as directed. Project work will be conducted throughout the year including planning, existing contract extension or scope change pricing, process change tracking and implementation, issue resolution tracking and testing execution.

Bid Pricing Responsibilities

  • Works with the Business Development team to prepare the competitive pricing component of the Company’s responses to Request for Proposals.
  • Strategizes and prepares the development of individual contract pricing based on the requirements outlined in the Request for Proposal or existing contract scope of work.
  • Works with the Pricing department to maintain and update the Bid Model used to create contract pricing. Adapts Bid Model as necessary to fulfill Client/Corporate bid requirements.
  • Aids in the negotiation with clients of new and renewed business contracts.
  • Must be skilled at managing multiple simultaneous projects to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Collaborates with the team throughout the project timeline to develop an effective pricing strategy aligned with corporate and client objectives.
  • This includes reviewing RFP documents to compile questions pertinent to pricing strategy and coordinating with various corporate departments to develop the required costing elements.
  • Assists in project-specific research to accurately identify labor, equipment, service and materials cost.
  • Reads and interprets labor contracts to determine pricing implications. May be involved in creating labor proposals during union negotiations during the contract start-up period.
  • Identifies comparable current operating contracts and uses Company owned budget and actual financial data to produce a relevant bid model.
  • Analyzes complex financial ratios embedded in the bid model for reasonableness.
  • Prepares financial analysis for specific pricing requests. Provides multiple scenario and sensitivity analysis as required.
  • Communicates with US Group and Paris Group Finance Team on pricing assumptions as required.
  • Uses knowledge of Operations, Finance and Marketing to prepare an accurate-client acceptable pricing sheet document.
  • Works closely with Operations and Finance throughout the start-up process to ensure budget adherence.
  • Assists in project review meetings, start up review meetings, mid-life contract reviews as needed, contributing bid-to-actual financial analysis and providing overviews of bid assumptions to local and regional project management.
  • Provides bid analysis after procurement concludes as needed including review of public records responses.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in management, accounting or finance, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • 2+ years of progressive Transportation or related experience.
    • Knowledge of Transit, Rail, Brokerage and On Demand business models a plus.
    • High level understanding of financial ratios and how they are affected by inputs throughout the pricing model.
    • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with all departments within company.
    • Knowledge of contract and leasing terms and conditions.
    • Strong project management skills.
    • Detail-oriented, with the ability to identify all cost elements within often complex requests for proposals.
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple firm deadlines in a busy environment.
    • Strong creative business writing skills are essential.
    • Advanced organizational, problem solving, analytical and financial skills required.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
    • Specific expertise in Microsoft Excel to include manipulating and creating linked Excel spreadsheets.
    • Travel 10%.
    • Must understand that current and potential client partner requests frequently change schedule; as a result, must be willing to accommodate last minute, late night and over weekend requests to meet client set deadlines.

      Pay

      The annual salary range for this role is $100,000-$119,000 annual salary. Benefits may vary depending on location policy. The below represents the standard Corporate Policy.

      • Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks
      • Sick days: 5 days
      • Holidays: 12 days; 8 standard and 4 floating
      • Other standard benefits: 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short-term disability, voluntary long-term disability.
