Preschool Cook

We are seeking a Preschool Cook / Support Staff to join our team. If you’re passionate about kids and bring experience from childcare, daycare, or early childhood education, this is your chance to whip up delicious, healthy meals that fuel our preschoolers’ adventures.

Responsibilities

• Understand and comply with the CACFP Program, including:
  • Weekly meal counts and monthly recording
  • Daily recording of meat, fridge, and freezer temperatures
  • Printing CN Labels for new food items
  • Weekly food ordering with correct milk amounts
  • Monthly supply ordering and record keeping
  • Training and modeling proper food portion maintenance
  • Maintaining Food Managers card and CACFP training updates
• Create nutritious, kid-approved meals and snacks
• Keep the kitchen organized and manage food and supply storage
• Serve meals to classrooms, ensuring every child is fueled for learning and play
• Handle dishes and maintain a spotless, efficient kitchen system
• Assist with additional tasks such as laundry, cleaning equipment, and sanitizing toys
• Perform duties that involve some lifting

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• Meets all state preschool cook requirements
• 1 year of experience in food planning, preparation, and service following USDA guidelines
• Preferred: Current Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe certification
