Responsibilities

• Understand and comply with the CACFP Program: weekly meal counts, monthly counting and recording, daily meat temperature logs, daily fridge and freezer temperature logs, print CN Labels for new food items, weekly food ordering with correct milk amounts, monthly supply ordering and record keeping.
• Create nutritious, kid-approved meals and snacks that meet USDA guidelines.
• Keep the kitchen organized, managing food and supply storage efficiently.
• Serve meals to classrooms, ensuring every child is fueled for learning and play.
• Maintain a spotless, efficient kitchen system, including handling dishes.
• Pitch in with extra tasks like laundry, cleaning equipment, and sanitizing toys to keep our school sparkling.
• Model and train staff on proper food portion maintenance.
• Maintain Food Manager’s card and stay updated on CACFP training as changes occur.

Note: This role involves some lifting, so bring your energy!

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years old.
• Meets all state preschool cook requirements.
• 1 year of experience in food planning, preparation, and service, following USDA guidelines.
• Preferred: Current Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe certification.
