Preconstruction Coordinator
PAY RANGE: $50,000 - $75,000, based upon experience.
About the role
The Preconstruction Coordinator plays a crucial role in the preconstruction process, supporting the Preconstruction Team and ensuring all tasks are executed efficiently. Key responsibilities include assisting in bid solicitation, coordinating project plans and meetings, maintaining subcontractor databases, and utilizing project management software.
Responsibilities
- Aid the Preconstruction Team in soliciting and following up on bid proposals from subcontractors.
- Coordinate the distribution and printing of plans and specifications; create binders and labels; file estimates; and schedule project and MEP meetings, including taking meeting minutes.
- Maintain and expand the subcontractor database; ensure subcontractor prequalification data is current and complete.
- Contact subcontractors to ensure comprehensive bid coverage.
- Attend project setup meetings and create project startup kits.
- Utilize project management software to upload and organize project plans, specifications, and other documentation, including setting up projects, managing photos, contacts, notifications, meeting minutes, and creating submittal registers/logs.
- Perform accurate take-offs and identify requirements for estimates.
- Aid with administrative tasks such as copying, scanning, printing labels, shipping packages, running bids, and other errands as needed.
Qualifications
- PREFERRED: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management or Engineering; or equivalent experience.
- PREFERRED: Estimating experience in the commercial/multifamily construction industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience with project management software.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to plan projects, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey instructions clearly and effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications, with a mental capacity for spatial comprehension.
- Professional demeanor, with a neat and well-groomed appearance.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all employee and financial information.
