Responsibilities
- Take personal responsibility for working safely within an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture.
- Provide administrative support to the regional preconstruction teams.
- Aid in updating and facilitating the Preconstruction process map.
- Work with the Preconstruction team in scheduling project Kickoff meetings and Estimate reviews.
- Understand project requirements, including DBE requirements, and track company compliance.
- Document all project DBE efforts and disseminate information to project team members to be used throughout the process.
- Serve as a liaison between the regions and risk management when a Bid Bond is required for Hard Bids.
- Aid in the onboarding of new estimators.
- Process plans and specifications.
- Coordinate and assist in the onboarding of new estimators.
- Coordinate with the lead estimator when lunch is needed for estimate reviews.
- Communicate with design teams and owners, as needed.
- Train and coach team members on DBE project requirements.
- Manage and maintain an RFP/RFQ watch list.
- Maintain multiple active subcontractor databases and primary directory.
- Network with DBEs and create opportunities for DBEs to connect with team members.
- Represent region at subcontractor and industry events.
- Lead administrative activities and team members.
- Participate in activities to attract, develop, and retain team members.
- Participate in creating and nurturing a collaborative environment and team member engagement.
- Ensure team members have the necessary resources and support.
Qualifications
- High School diploma required.
- Post secondary construction education program preferred.
- 3 or more years of related construction office experience, ideally including experience working with publicly funded projects and requirements.
- Knowledge of basic construction terminology and general knowledge of estimating principles/polices preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills and the ability to learn other software programs quickly.
- Demonstrated high attention to detail and proven administrative skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge, practical experience with or ability to quickly learn Federal, state and local laws and regulations that pertain to DBE compliance, publicly funded projects and related programs, including construction practices and contracts.
- Demonstrated integrity and ethical standards.
- Developed skills (written, oral, and listening) in order to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously under time constraints.
- Ability to participate in evening or weekend events as needed.
