About the role
Schedules and pre-registers patients for appointments, outpatient visits, procedures, and other departmental appointments. Completes administrative work related to scheduling, transcribes external physician orders, and handles high call volumes for multiple locations and departments.
Responsibilities
- Utilize multiple systems to perform all scheduling functions as needed.
- Self-resolve technical issues with minimal assistance.
- Provide patients with preparation and location information.
- Correctly collect and input patient data into the system.
- Validate patient insurance and explain benefits as needed.
- Manage multiple phone calls, including answering, transferring, and conferencing between parties.
- Act as a mentor for new hires as needed.
- Promote mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abide by service behavior standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent OR 4 years of revenue cycle experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of revenue cycle experience and/or 2 years of contact center experience.

Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs.
- Frequent interactions with customers requiring clear communication and understanding of spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues.
- Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision, including frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up.
- For roles requiring driving: Ability to drive a vehicle, including sitting, seeing, and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

40 hours per week
Pay
Hourly rate: $19.29 - $25.61, dependent upon experience.
