What You Will Do

  • Phone Triage
    • Responsible for all initial telephone contact with patients requesting department services.
    • Must handle calls and direct them appropriately and efficiently in accordance with department performance metrics.
    • Answers general information questions regarding appointments, procedures and services (e.g. current studies, study specific information, potential patients, contact lists, etc.).
    • Directs/transfers calls to department coordinators as defined by scheduling guidelines.
    • Maintains a working knowledge of current procedures and services and able to answer questions regarding insurance, registration, and other services.
  • Pre-visit/Registration
    • Responsible for pre-visit and registration process for patients.
    • Creates and/or updates patient record by verifying demographic, insurance information, or proper study identification in the registration system.
    • Sure specific registration fields are accurately entered into registration system, including but not limited to visit notes and summaries, referral/authorization numbers, eligibility review, etc.
    • Provides any and all other duties necessary to provide efficient, timely services to patients and their families as it relates to the registration and insurance process.
  • Scheduling Coordination
    • Provides cross-functional support to the department by handling inbound and outbound calls, coordinating scheduling across multiple specialties and enterprise service areas.
    • Explains and educates family about the scheduling process.
    • Maintains consistent and productive communication with necessary departments; precertification, registration, coordinators etc.
    • Provides scheduling wrap-up and necessary communication for patients scheduled.
    • Works with Management Staff in identifying trends and opportunities to enhance the pre-visit, registration and scheduling functions for patients/subjects and department staff.

Education Qualifications

High School Diploma / GED Required

Experience Qualifications

At least one (1) year Customer Service experience Preferred

Preferred Healthcare, registration, physician billing, medical records/office experience

Skills And Abilities

  • Competent computer skills (Required proficiency)
  • Professional skills using sound judgment (Required proficiency)

Employees are responsible for supporting the department by managing inbound and outbound calls, scheduling across multiple specialties and service areas within the enterprise, and may be assigned to support different or additional teams based on departmental needs and operational changes.

Pay

SALARY RANGE: $21.05 - $26.35 Hourly
