About the Role

The US Oncology Network is seeking a Practice Director - Surgery to oversee the Texas Breast Specialist and Texas Oncology Surgical Specialists clinics in the Gulf Coast Region. Candidates must currently reside in Texas, with a strong preference for those located in the Gulf Coast Region. This position is fully remote with up to 90% travel for key meetings.

Sites include: Webster, Katy, Memorial City, Sugar Land, Medical Center, Pearland, Willowbrook, and The Woodlands.

Responsibilities

  • Directs practice activities to ensure accomplishment of objectives, typically in a practice with a minimum of 25 physicians and/or gross revenues of $50 million.
  • Implements practice objectives to ensure financial profitability through short and long-range planning to achieve and maintain growth.
  • Evaluates general and specific business conditions as they relate to operational issues and advises the governing body and Executive Director.
  • Develops and implements policies, procedures, and objectives, ensuring their adequate execution, compliance, and updates.
  • Advises and assists in developing organizational objectives and plans for their achievement.
  • Oversees the development of systems (both manual and automated) to support practice-wide activities based on business needs.
  • Directs the coordination of hardware and software requirements for existing and future systems.
  • Directs the development and implementation of organizational procedures and controls to promote communication and adequate information flow.
  • Monitors, analyzes, assesses, and communicates practice progress, considering present and planned capacity, manpower, and practice needs.
  • Directs the preparation and maintenance of management reports necessary to carry out practice functions and prepares periodic reports as required.
  • Ensures compliance and adherence to the organization's structure, management philosophy, and mission statements.
  • Oversees development and coordination of new office locations and their needs as required.
  • Supervises all practice staff, with clinical work direction provided by physicians.
  • Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field. Alternatively, an Associate's Degree with four (4) years of related work experience or eight (8) years of related work experience.
  • Minimum seven years of experience in healthcare management, including at least three years in a supervisory capacity.

Physical Demands

  • Requires sitting for long periods of time, with some bending and stretching.
  • Adequate finger dexterity and feeling to perform keyboarding and substantial repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Requires vision and hearing corrected to normal range; must be able to view computer screens and printed material accurately.
  • Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.

Work Environment

The work environment is typical of an office setting. This role requires travel.
