Positive Support Specialist with 2500 Hiring Bonus
Job Summary
Possessing a passion for supporting individuals with complex needs, Positive Support Specialists (PSS) work in our Intensive Community Residential Services (ICRS) programs. These programs focus on helping individuals reach their goals while ensuring safety and community involvement.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals in performing essential life skills such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and navigating the community.
- Advocate for individuals in areas like rights, medical care, and community participation.
- Complete necessary documentation and record-keeping during each shift.
- Manage crisis situations safely and effectively, including the potential use of manual restraints.
- Engage in trauma-informed care daily.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of individuals.
- Physical capability to stand, squat, bend, or walk for long periods, and the ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of local community resources is beneficial.
- Cleared by a Bureau of Criminal Affairs (BCA) background study and hold a valid driver's license.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma is the minimum educational requirement, with a degree in a relevant field preferred.
- At least 1-2 years of experience working with people with complex needs, with 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred.

- Work at least 40% full-time equivalent (FTE).
- Stay current on all trainings.
- Maintain employment in good standing.
