About the role
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Classroom Teacher to join our team. This is a full-time, ongoing position commencing as soon as possible.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
- Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
- Observe and evaluate student's performance and development.
- Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and assignments.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
- Participate in department, school, and parent meetings.
- Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
- Stay updated with developments in subject area, teaching resources, and methods, and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities.
- Collaborate with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning and student engagement.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
- Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs, and student organizations.
Requirements
- Teaching qualification recognized in Tasmania (e.g., Bachelor of Education or equivalent).
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the Teachers Registration Board Tasmania.
- Experience in teaching within a primary school setting.
- Strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum and ability to implement it effectively.
- Commitment to the Catholic ethos and values of St Patrick’s Catholic School.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to use a range of teaching strategies to engage students and cater for diverse learning needs.
- High level of organizational and time management skills.
