About the role
The Phoenix Police Department is seeking multiple Police Records Clerks to work within the Alarm Detail Unit.
Responsibilities
- Assist the public with understanding and meeting the requirements of the Phoenix City Code on Alarm Systems.
- Process alarm permit and renewal applications accurately and in a timely manner.
- Notify alarm users of false alarm activations and provide guidance on next steps.
- Process letter extracts and ensure all documentation is handled correctly.
- Process incoming payments and maintain accurate financial records related to alarm permits.
- Perform precise and efficient data entry to maintain reliable alarm system records.
- Interpret and clearly communicate Phoenix City Code requirements to citizens and alarm companies.
- Collaborate closely with the alarm industry to help reduce false alarm activations within the City of Phoenix.
Qualifications
Ideal Candidate
- Ability to demonstrate good judgment and responsible behavior.
- Proper English usage, grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, and spelling.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Minimum Qualifications
- One year of clerical experience.
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position. Some positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license, and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or does not have personal insurance coverage.
Preferred Qualifications
The minimum qualifications listed above, plus experience with:
- Cash handling and electronic cashiering systems.
- Microsoft Office.
- Working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Providing customer service in a fast-paced environment over the phone and in person.
Pay
Pay Range: $22.61 to $33.41 per hour.
Hiring Range: $22.61 to $26.18 per hour.
Pay range is the entire compensation range for the position classification. Hiring range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity.
