About the role
LSU Health New Orleans University Police is seeking motivated applicants for the position of Police Officer 1, 2 or 3. There are multiple vacancies for this position.
Responsibilities
- Protect life and property, conduct proactive patrols, auto crash/theft, injury investigations, respond to calls for service, direct traffic, and enforce applicable laws and adhere to established policies
- Effect arrests, when necessary on or adjacent to LSUHSC property
- Greet visitors and the public while offering assistance and direction
- Accept supervisory responsibility for the LSU Health Sciences Center in the absence of a higher supervisory officer
Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age
- Possession of a current Louisiana driver's license
- Willingness and ability to attain a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification
Qualifications
No experience or training is required. Applicants must have a current passing Civil Service Protective Services Exam score (PSE 2100).

Pay
Starting rate of pay is 18.58 for a PO 1, 19.88 for a PO 2 and 21.27 for a PO 3. There is also an additional $2 Premium Pay, $1 Longevity Pay and $2.50 Shift Differential for hours worked only.
