Podcast Producer – On-Site Cambridge
We’re looking for a temporary on-site podcast producer in Cambridge, Massachusetts to set up and manage a weekly recording studio for a 10-week period starting 3 September 2026.
About the role
The role centers on facilitating high-quality audio-first podcast sessions, similar in style to the Acquired Podcast, with occasional guest interviews and the capture of short vertical video clips for social media. The producer will be responsible for bringing and configuring suitable audio and basic video equipment, ensuring seamless recording sessions, and transferring all recorded files to a remote editorial team. All editing and post-production will be handled off-site.
Responsibilities
- Set up and dismantle a temporary podcast studio in an office environment each week
- Record 3–4 hour podcast discussions, including potential guest interviews
- Capture short vertical video clips for social media use
- Operate and monitor microphones, headphones, audio interface, laptop, lighting, and cameras or phones
- Ensure high-quality audio and video capture throughout each session
- Transfer all recorded files promptly to the remote editorial team in London
- Coordinate with the production team to address any technical requirements or troubleshooting
Requirements
- Proven experience as a podcast producer, sound engineer, or similar audio production role
- Proficiency in setting up and operating podcast recording equipment (microphones, audio interfaces, headphones, cameras/phones, lighting)
- Ability to provide or source necessary equipment for weekly sessions (some equipment may be provided)
- Strong understanding of audio capture best practices and troubleshooting
- Experience recording both audio-first podcasts and basic video content for social media
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work on-site in Cambridge, Massachusetts for the full 10-week duration
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with remote teams
- Familiarity with transferring large audio and video files securely
