FiNC (Future is Now Coalition) · United States · 1 wk ago

We're building a coalition to change how politics works—forever. Not a party, not an app, but a coalition of citizens, candidates, and communities who recognize the system isn't broken, it's rigged. Three middlemen—big money, party gatekeepers, and media manipulation—control the money, access, and visibility every candidate needs to win. Good people run for office and stay invisible. We're building the infrastructure to cut out the middleman and connect people directly: citizens to candidates who want to represent them, and to movements working on what they care about. This is live today at hub.futureis.org, and it's close to empty. Growing the coalition is the work.

FiNC isn’t a tech company. Our work is the human side: outreach, PR, social, and citizen buy-in. We're campaigning for a better way to choose leaders, built closer to a cooperative than a traditional nonprofit. Team members here are partners and co-architects, not employees.

IMPORTANT: This role involves DELAYED COMPENSATION. To maintain independence, we're Crowd-Starting FiNC—building it together from the ground up. Team members contribute 15-20 hours per week during this phase, with compensation paid retroactively once fully operational. Everyone who joins receives an ownership stake in FiNC, structured similarly to a Nonprofit Cooperative.

Culture and Employment

  • Neurodiversity and diversity-of-thought are strengths, not obstacles
  • Servant leadership, dynamic team structures, and shared ownership
  • Purpose over profits, value over hours, and respect for work-life balance
  • Reward authenticity, passion, and commitment—not conformity
  • Support individual weaknesses to enhance collective strengths
  • Continuous role assessments, long-term growth opportunities, and real career sustainability

About the Role

The show runs every week, and it's not going to stop. This role owns everything after the record button: editing, clips, assembling pieces from others, and getting it live everywhere. Currently, this work is spread across people who should be doing other things. Consistency beats brilliance—a good episode out every week beats a great episode out sometimes. Commitment: 15-20 hours per week, consistently. Reports to Podcast under Becks.

Responsibilities

  • Edit the episode and cut the clips: Clean edit of the full-length episode (lower-thirds, intro/outro, on-screen treatment for Reddit posts). Cut clips for promotion or later use. Marketing handles social posting; you focus on cutting.
  • Own the weekly cycle end-to-end: Collect episode descriptions, thumbnails, and assemble the finished episode for on-time delivery. If it ships, it’s because you pulled it together. One episode per week; recording night is team-determined, and deadlines adapt to your schedule.
  • Keep the show's homes clean: Manage YouTube channel and RSS feed (titles, descriptions, chapters, tags, playlists) to ensure error-free publishing across Apple, Spotify, Amazon, etc.
  • Keep the audio right: Run audio checks and help cast members optimize their setups to minimize post-production fixes. Attendance at recordings isn’t required.
  • Raise the look and feel of the show: Drive production quality, on-screen graphics, thumbnail direction, and visual presence as the show scales. Designers are available, but you shape the show’s aesthetic.
  • Pluses (not requirements): YouTube growth knowledge (packaging, retention) or openness to hosting. Core job remains editing, assembling, and publishing.

Requirements

  • Grown a podcast or YouTube channel before (even a small one) and understand what moves the needle vs. busywork
  • Comfortable with video editing software (DaVinci Resolve, Premiere, CapCut, Final Cut, etc.) and can deliver clean cuts without micromanagement
  • Published to YouTube and podcast hosts before, or can learn quickly without hesitation
  • Instincts for clips, hooks, and thumbnails—you notice what stops scrollers
  • Self-starter who can run a weekly production cycle independently
  • Organized and dependable with many moving parts—track down assets, assemble episodes, and meet deadlines without dropping details
  • Care about representation, citizen empowerment, or independent media. The mission must resonate, as pay is delayed

Who Struggles Here

  • Editors who can’t handle coordination (chasing descriptions, thumbnails, deadlines). This role is both creative and operational
  • Need full-time hours, fixed pay, or a corporate setup immediately. We’re not there yet
  • Can only commit sporadically (e.g., 2 hours here and there). This role requires consistent weekly hours
  • See this as a stepping stone and won’t invest energy in the show. Delayed pay only works if the mission drives you
