Podcast Producer

About the Opportunity

We're looking for a part-time hands-on Podcast Producer for one of our clients. This role will own the operational backbone of our client's podcast show — from guest booking through the final "go live" — and keep every episode moving on schedule without dropping quality. You'll be the connective tissue between the host, marketing team, and video editor, making sure nothing falls through the cracks between concept and publish.

This is a producer role in the truest sense: equal parts project manager, guest wrangler, on-call troubleshooter during recording, and quality gatekeeper before anything ships.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the editorial calendar (topic, guest, record date, drop date, owner) as the single source of truth for the show
• Partner with marketing to keep the season roadmap on track
• Build and maintain a rolling guest wishlist, vetting for audience fit, on-camera/mic presence, and reputational risk
• Handle personalized guest outreach and invitations
• Manage guest scheduling, including backup dates, calendar holds, and sending recording instructions/standards
• Collect all guest assets ahead of time: bios, headshot, social handles, logo, media kit, name pronunciation
• Run pre-interview prep calls with the host and guest to align on talking points and tone
• Contribute to the interview research brief alongside marketing
• Own tech and logistics checks before every recording — platform, mic/lighting/internet tests, backup recordings, and signed release forms
• Run studio and recording setup: mic checks, room tone capture, lighting checks
• Sit in on recordings to track run-time, flag missed questions, and keep things on pace
• Capture the post-record debrief: best moments with timestamps, re-record needs, and a quality gut-check
• Own final legal/compliance review and QC — fact-checking claims and doing a full listen-through before an episode is locked
• Package and send guests their promo kit (ready-to-post copy, audiograms, clip links) so sharing is effortless
• Follow up with guests post-publish with a performance recap and an ask for a share or testimonial, building the long-term guest referral pipeline

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; some college preferred
• Experience producing a podcast, video series, or similar recurring content show with understanding of production calendar
• Excellent project management instincts; comfortable being the person who makes sure dates, assets, and approvals are all in place before they're needed
• Strong written communication for guest outreach, drafting a tailored pitch
• Comfortable running live/recorded sessions and troubleshooting tech issues in real time (recording platforms like Descript, mic/lighting basics)
• Detail-oriented enough to catch a missing release form or an unchecked fact before it becomes a problem
• Collaborative working with host, marketing, and video editor every week

Pay

This will be an hourly non-exempt position. The hourly range is $50-$58 per hour.

Working Conditions

• Partially an office-based role requiring prolonged sitting, focused computer work (4–6 hours at a time), extended discussions (1–2 hours), and sustained concentration on detailed information
• Local domestic travel required
