PM / Long term Care Cook / 11am - 7pm

Responsibilities

• Affords assistance in receiving and storing food and supplies to prevent waste and ensure quality products.
• Labels and stores items correctly.
• Utilizes proper food handling techniques.
• Reviews menus, therapeutic menus, recipes, and production sheets before preparing meals; ensures diets are prepared properly, accurately, and attractively as planned using proper portions and special diet items.
• Fulfills standardized recipes and special diet orders, preparing sufficient quantities to meet all service requirements.
• Tests and tastes foods of all consistencies for proper appearance, flavor, aroma, and temperature and adjusts if necessary.
• Serves as supervisor when needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare food service is preferred, though not required.
• Banquet/catering experience is preferred, though not required.
