Plumbing Apprentice I

About the role

An Apprentice Plumber I is responsible for assembling pipes, cleaning the water supply, handling tools, and cleaning job sites. The Apprentice Plumber can expect to assist in complex jobs and handle smaller jobs on their own. Travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the willingness to excel and learn commercial plumbing.
• Determine the right tools and equipment necessary to successfully complete the job.
• Learn industry-relevant building codes and regulations for the installation and maintenance of commercial plumbing systems.
• Measure, cut, and bend pipe material.
• Be on the jobsite at the required time.
• Attend all safety meetings.
• Follow instructions given by on-site leadership.
• Clean the job site after the work is completed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• OSHA 10 Certification required.
• No experience necessary but preferred.

Skills

• Ability to listen to instructions and follow through with requests.
• Familiar with plumbing tools and equipment.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented and organized.

Physical Requirements

• Required to stand, walk, and sit.
• Talk or hear, both in person and by telephone.
• Use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects or controls.
• Reach with hands and arms.
• Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, and lift up to 50 pounds.
