Plastics Process Technician W/E 3rd

About the role

The Plastic Process Technician plays a crucial role in Shoals Technologies Group's mission to drive innovation in the renewable energy industry. Reporting to the Plastics Engineer, this position oversees the setup, operation, and optimization of plastic manufacturing processes to produce high-quality parts.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate injection machines and molds
• Prepare machines for mold changeovers and complete mold changes
• Evaluate equipment condition and make necessary adjustments
• Provide input on injection molding processes, programming, and equipment improvements
• Audit molding machines to confirm part quality and ensure parameters are within approved tolerances
• Thoroughly understand molds and molding machines
• Report any mold repairs to the Plastics Engineer
• Prepare molds for storage and upcoming production runs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on plastics processing experience preferred
• High School diploma preferred
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills
• Ability to read and write English

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand, walk, push, bend, crawl, climb, and/or squat for 10+ hours in a day
• Must be able to lift up to 25-50 Ibs at a time
• Regularly perform repetitive tasks
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Must be able to work in an office environment, including looking at screens for extended periods of time
• Must be able to work in a manufacturing facility environment
