Plastics Process Technician W/E 1st

About the role

The Plastic Process Technician plays a crucial role in the manufacturing of high-quality plastic parts or products. They operate, monitor, and optimize plastic manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate injection machines and molds.
• Prepare machines for mold changeovers and complete mold changes.
• Evaluate equipment condition and make necessary adjustments in consultation with the Plastics Engineer.
• Provide input on injection molding processes, programming, and equipment to reduce defects, improve overall process, enhance efficiency, and minimize downtime.
• Audit molding machines to confirm part quality and ensure molding parameters are within approved tolerances.
• Show thorough understanding of molds and molding machines.
• Report any mold repairs to the Plastics Engineer.
• Prepare molds for storage and upcoming production runs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on plastics processing experience preferred.
• High School diploma preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
• Ability to read and write English.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand, walk, push, bend, crawl, climb, and/or squat for 10+ hours in a day.
• Must be able to lift up to 25-50 Ibs at a time.
• Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to work in an office environment, including looking at screens for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work in a manufacturing facility environment.
