Plastics Process Technician

Responsibilities

Sets up auxiliary machines as needed for injection molding machines. Adjusts and monitors injection molding machines and equipment for processes to ensure quality product and meet customer specifications.

• Mounts, aligns, and secures tool sections in machines and verifies safe operations.
• Sets up, adjusts auxiliary equipment such as thermolaters, grinders, mold vacs, and conveyors.
• Sets molding process according to setup sheets.
• Sets up, adjusts, and maintains injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment, using hand tools, electrical testing instruments, machine controls, and gauges.
• Adjusts machine operations and instruments to accomplish work order objectives, quality expectations, and to accomplish startup and shutdown efficiently.
• Cooperates and communicates with other production personnel—including supervisors, quality, process engineers, and operators—to ensure quality production parts and continuously achieve effective processing methods.
• Documents all process problems and corrections in the mold log book.
• Reports problems and malfunctions to the shift supervisor.
• Maintains equipment.
