Plant Supervisor and Operator Ready Mix Batching

Responsibilities
- Promote safety by ensuring zero accidents and full compliance with all Vulcan policies and procedures.
- Operate plant equipment to regulate material flow through conveyors, chutes, pumps, and storage bins.
- Start up, batch, and shut down the batch plant daily.
- Determine work procedures and assign duties for batching, hauling concrete, and maintaining plant equipment.
- Provide leadership, training, and supervision to facility employees to support operational functions.
- Foster teamwork while upholding company guidelines, policies, and morale across all departments.
- Coordinate with dispatch for efficient concrete delivery.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety policies, correcting non-compliance immediately.
- Assist in daily inspection, maintenance, and repairs of the facility to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations.
- Maintain the appearance and security of grounds, buildings, equipment, and machinery.
- Manage and monitor inventories, plant operating costs, and prepare daily reports.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous experience in the Ready Mix, Aggregate, or Construction industry is required.
- Valid VDOT Plant Operator certification is highly desirable.
- Basic knowledge of concrete, cement, or construction industries.
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills for direct and indirect reports.
- Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and collaborate in a team environment.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.
- Flexibility to work a rotating schedule with varying shifts and overtime as needed.

Pay
The hourly range for this role is $24.00 – $27.09, not including discretionary bonus or equity package. Compensation is determined based on skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
Schedule
Rotating schedule with varying shifts, including overtime based on business conditions. Year-round 30-hour weekly guarantee ensures consistent work hours.
