Plant Supervisor and Operator Ready Mix Batching
About the role
The Ready Mix Plant Supervisor I is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a ready-mix concrete plant, ensuring the efficient and safe production and delivery of quality concrete. This role involves managing plant personnel, coordinating with dispatch and sales, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and train and direct the work of plant personnel, including batch operators, drivers, and yard workers.
- Oversee the batching and loading of ready-mix concrete to meet customer specifications and coordinates with dispatch for efficient delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials (cement, aggregates, admixtures) and coordinate with suppliers for timely replenishment.
- Responsible for general appearance and security of grounds, buildings, equipment and machinery.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues or equipment malfunctions.
- Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on plant equipment, including mixers, conveyors, and silos, to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Responsible for managing and monitoring inventories and plant operating costs and prepares daily reports.
- Responsible for ensuring preventative maintenance is performed on all plant equipment.
- Supervises and counsels personnel as appropriate.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED is required
- 1-3 years of experience in ready-mix concrete production, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Thorough understanding of ready-mix concrete production processes, materials, and equipment.
- Familiarity with concrete mix designs, admixtures, and their properties.
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations (OSHA) and environmental compliance (e.g., storm water management).
- Understanding of basic mechanical and electrical systems related to plant operation.
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License, Class “A” or Class “B” commercial driver’s license preferred.
- Must have a clean driving record.

Pay
The hourly range for this role is between $24.00 - $27.09. This range is not inclusive of our discretionary bonus or equity package. When determining a candidate’s compensation, we consider a number of factors, including skillset, experience, job scope, and current market data.
Schedule
Must be willing to work a rotating schedule with varying shifts and must be punctual in adhering to established start times. May be required to work overtime based on business conditions.
