Plant Operator

About the role

Chemours is seeking a Plant Operator to join our growing Mission Mining team in Nahunta, GA. This position reports directly to the Shift Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Maintain peak plant performance by monitoring and maintaining operating conditions of various mining and mineral processing facilities.
• Monitor and communicate sampling results, meter readings, and changes in operating conditions to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Resolve process-related deviations and problems, and maintain equipment reliability.
• Optimize plant performance by monitoring process equipment and conditions using information systems.
• Perform process equipment troubleshooting, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance.
• Clean and maintain plant equipment such as spirals, sumps, distributors, etc.
• Ensure operational activities and process performance align with plant and business goals.
• Support overall mining and mineral processing needs by providing supplemental labor as required.

Requirements

• Valid Drivers' License with a clean driving record.
• Ability to read and write the English language.
• Ability to read and comprehend detailed specifications, including computer graphical user interfaces, and basic math ability.
• Ability to work with a team and possess good people skills.
• Previous processing plant experience preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to use hands, fingers, and feet in a coordinated effort to move levers and turn dials to safely operate and maintain plant equipment.
• Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and vibrations.
• Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods (4-6 hours).
• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
