Plant Operator
About the role
We are hiring a Plant Operator in Cortez, CO. The ideal candidate will contribute to our production team by ensuring the safe and efficient loading and packaging of dry ice products.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily loading, weighing, and packaging of dry ice products into various containers (blocks, pellets, slices) based on customer orders.
- Inspect all finished products to ensure they meet the company's strict quality standards regarding weight, density, and packaging integrity.
- Operate production machinery and material handling equipment (such as forklifts or pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.
- Accurate logging of production numbers, shipping manifests, and inventory usage.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, commissions, proportions, and percent
- Ability to communicate effectively written/verbal
Preferred Qualifications
- Two plus (2+) years experience in production/manufacturing environment
Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver's license

Pay
$24.50 per hour
Schedule
6 am- 6:30 pm Sun-Tuesday and every other Weds

Work Environment
- 85% in the production area (i.e. warm in summer, cool in winter)
- Hazards require the use of personal protective equipment (i.e. hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes)
- Dry ice is extremely cold, and therefore requires that gloves be worn when directly handling dry ice
- 15% office work to provide data entry
